Original Marketing Description

In 2003, Delirium Books published The Rising, the first novel by then newcomer Brian Keene. Since its publication, critics have hailed The Rising as “a major horror novel” and Keene as “the next Stephen King.” The Rising went on to win the Bram Stoker Award and became Delirium’s quickest selling title to date.

It also left readers worldwide asking, “What happens next?”

In January 2005, Delirium Books will present the answer to that question, with the publication of City of the Dead. This long awaited sequel to The Rising picks up where the first book left off, and immediately raises the stakes—and the horror.

Trapped inside a fortified skyscraper, humanity makes its last stand against an unstoppable, unforgiving, and undying enemy. The terror mounts with every page as they face overwhelming odds and dwindling numbers.

Welcome to New York City—population eight million zombies. Welcome to…the City of the Dead.
