In order to combat eBay fees and to give the horror genre a dedicated auction site, Shane Staley developed the Horror Mall auction house. This site was run on a separate server and using PHPProBid software modified heavily to fit the operations needed.
The auction site, while being heavily developed, never took off due to most collectors using the corporate eBay site to move their books as well as a great number of auction users not paying their fees.
However, several of Horror Mall’s shop owners had success with the site and used the system exclusively to auction off their books.
This site was ultimately dismantled with Horror Mall’s closing.
