My Friend Dahmer (2017) ★★★

Interesting coming-of-age (or becoming-a-killer) movie focusing on Jeffrey Dahmer’s final year of high school onward towards his first kill. How the making of both his psychology and environment contributed to him becoming one of the most notorious serial killers in US history.

Although empathy should always be centered first and foremost around the victims, there is a coherent undertow of empathy displayed toward the soon-to-be-killer himself. This begs the questions: are serial killers victims as well? Does society have a hand it turning men or women into monsters?

Rating: ★★★ (out of 5)
