Christine Brown has a good job, a great boyfriend, and a bright future. But in three days, she’s going to hell.
After denying a woman the extension she needs to keep her home, loan officer Christine Brown sees her once-promising life take a startling turn for the worse. Christine is convinced she’s been cursed by a Gypsy, but her boyfriend is skeptical. Her only hope seems to lie in a psychic who claims he can help her lift the curse and keep her soul from being dragged straight to hell.

Drag Me To Hell is a a tough film to review. I’m torn on just what the hell is was meant to be. If it was seriously meant to be a horror/thriller, this may be one of the worst movies I’ve watched in the past year. It’s so bad, I had to wonder if it was meant to be some tongue-in-cheek humorous romp. Almost like a horror movie spoof. Some of the scenes are so ludicrous and preposterous, yet were framed in such a serious way.
Did the Raimis get together and try to make the most absurd horror movie they could? I’m still not sure, don’t really care and am not going to look into it further. Because, either way, Drag Me To Hell did just what it stated. It dragged me into (movie) hell for 99+ minutes. Plus the wound was thoroughly salted by having to watch Plex commercials, mostly in foreign languages, every fifteen minutes to add to the run time.
Alison Lohman and Justin Long even seemed lost in the script. This one was a hard pass / not recommended.
