Gods of the Deep

H.P. Lovecraft was my gateway drug to horror. The brilliance of his short work still resonates with me. But a good movie based on his works or characters is few and far between.

Unfortunately, this movie was not good. Cheesy comes to mind. Low budget all around and glaringly so. In order to pull off something of this magnitude, you’d need not only a bigger budget, but a script that wasn’t so poorly written and blatantly stuffed with Lovecraft character plugs.

The following quote may explain this film the best:

“Creative minds are uneven, and the best of fabrics have their dull spots.” ―H.P. Lovecraft
