Tusk (2014) ★★★

A truly transformative tale.

When his best friend and podcast co-host goes missing in the backwoods of Canada, a young guy joins forces with his friend’s girlfriend to search for him.

Tusk is a horror comedy that most reviewers end up taking way too seriously. The Justin Long body horror transformation highlights the runtime. It’s an absurd, overly cruel (in a good way) story by Kevin Smith based on one of his podcast episodes. As thin as that might sound, I felt the movie was entertaining enough for a single watch. Not much else I could say to elevate it into a movie I’d want to rewatch or hold physical media of.

I did watch it completely without realizing Johnny Depp made a rather sizeable cameo appearance, so there’s that.

Rating: ★★★ (out of 5)
