Review

The Human Centipede 2 was a very derivative take on the original. There’s also a wishy-washy ‘is this real or fantasy’ angle that included meta-movie elements referring to the first film and an actress, which was self-serving and pointless. Its only intent was to be more provocative, but this sequel really brought nothing new to the table. In fact, it was less disturbing because it was far less believable than the original.

How do we top the disgusting act of sewing 3 people via anus-to-mouth together? Eureka! Let’s sew 12 people together. Fucking brilliant! I’m not speaking from experience here, but it’s a real pain in the ass to abduct a single person, let alone have 12 of them tied up with duct tape, waiting for the procedure. Even worse, the villain here is not mentally capable of pulling off such a feat. Also, not physically up the challenge since he’s a morbidly obese man with chronic breathing problems.

No matter how a film tries to become shocking, if it’s not believable it’ll fail to be both a decent movie and shocking. The original Human Centipede was just believable enough for it to have somewhat of an impact. This sequel was a waste of time and money.

If you’re interested in this series, skip the sequel and stick with the original.
