Review
After finishing off Ti West’s X trilogy, I wanted to check out some of his earlier work. So I sat down and watched his highly praised The House of the Devil. My take on it was that it’s really a slow, run-of-the-mill throwback that does little to break new ground. Even if you are a patient horror fan with a low bar, this movie struggles to accomplish anything original or moving in the genre. It’s not a bad film, but the pacing, reveal and end just won’t move the needle.
