Review
Director Sean Byrne is undoubtedly a die-hard heavy metal music fan. There’s some killer heavy stuff in every one of his movies to date.
The Devil’s Candy is impressive at its lean 80-minute runtime. Goes to show directors can craft really good movies in under an hour-and-a-half. This movie is well-paced, has an extremely dark atmosphere and Pruitt Taylor Vince makes one hell of a creepy bad guy in this. Ethan Embry as Jesse looks sort of Christ-like, especially at the end of this film. And since it revolved heavily around Satan, perhaps that’s intentional and, if so, well done!
🤘, Mr. Byrne! Keep them coming!
