When Dakota tries to break off her toxic relationship with Axel, it starts transforming him into a monstrous creature. He gradually succumbs to the poison of the decaying relationship, becoming a creature with increased aggression, a touch that melts skin and worst of all, he’s contagious.

One big metaphor for interpersonal toxicity within a romantic relationship. And done quite well featuring first-time actors and fairly new directors. Kill Your Lover is an edgy, fun film that wastes no time getting down to the grungy matters of the heart. I thought it was mixed well with scenes of passion and the coldness of soured love. The entire death of a relationship is showcased in a monstrous way. Very unique and relatable to anyone who’s been through the highs and lows in a domestic partnership.
Kill Your Lover is a very effective low budget horror movie with good acting and some gooey body horror that pairs well with its erotic counterpart.
