It’s been a long time since I first watched this film, but it just doesn’t hold its own as time has passed. So much of the film sets up basically one sick, disturbing scene. It’s slow. I may be more desensitized 25 years down the road (half-a-life since), I dunno, but to be on many lists that states this is one of the most disturbing films ever…it didn’t move me all that much.
Also, I had forgotten much of the movie, so it wasn’t all that memorable, either, but the last scene…yes, that’ll leave its mark on your psyche.
