Review

Still in pursuit of watching the most disturbing films ever made…next stop: A Serbian Film.

Here are the top twelve things that popped in my head immediately after watching this movie:

  1. I’d say the guy’s career in porn really took its toll on his family.
  2. This is a film I highly recommend to all my woke friends.
  3. I give it 4-stars!!!! A star for every orifice that gets penetrated in this movie!
  4. People are really hating on Disney these days, but I felt they did a bang up job on this one.
  5. I can’t believe I missed this one on the big screen!
  6. My grandma and I really love this film.
  7. Is there such a thing as a ‘ram-com’?
  8. Oooooh, Cinemax After Dark just got a little spicier!
  9. Cattle aphrodisiac, anyone?
  10. Taking into consideration the son’s role, it’s clearly a coming of age story.
  11. Serbia just climbed to the top of my bucket list!
  12. People complain and give this film horrible ratings, but it’s basically just a typical day in the life of a Catholic Priest.

Now that I lost (the weak) half of my followers, let’s discuss A Serbian Film

I always get a kick out of why people get so offended at art. Art imitates life and, while I hate to be the bearer of bad news, there is more than likely an entire snuff film library hanging out in some rich prick’s home theater that would put this film to shame.

I applaud the film for being extreme and controversial, but the film actually had many other merits…the acting was good, the plot was solid and tense, and the lead character actually had empathy and didn’t want anything to do with the things he was forced into. It is very symbolic that sex can be a very destructive force and a real degrading factor in today’s society. There are similar things happening around you right now: child trafficking and prostitution, incest, sodomy, rape and other violent sexual acts against fellow humans. And (even though I joked before) how many Catholic Church clergy members or Boy Scouts of America volunteers have been involved in horrific sex crimes against minors? Look it up (it would shock you) and you’d find real-life atrocities to give shitty star ratings to and complain about instead of art.

Rating: ★★★★ (out of 5)
