Review
Humane may be a Shudder release, but it’s more thriller than horror. It’s a film filled with characters I wanted dead in the most inhumane way possible. There was little to like or care about in any single character, except for the young daughter. The casting was also bizarre. It’s extremely difficult to take either Jay Baruchel and Peter Gallagher as a serious horror casting, not to mention Enrico Colantoni. Unless it’s a PG made-for-TV spooky Halloween movie.
If there was a world where 20% of the population needed to volunteer to die, why not focus on a real blue-collar working family? Give us some heart; make us care. This movie, like its characters, was soulless and really a waste.
