Review

Nic Cage, damn, man! What a run of horror movies during this stage of his career. And so fitting an actor to play such characters. Love him or hate him, he’s iconic in these roles. Arcadian surprised me. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did. It’s one of those movies I did a lot of double-takes. First the monsters seemed rather cheesy. Then they freaked me out. In the end, the balance swayed. The menacing creatures were both effective and original.

Meanwhile, this Nic Cage performance was quite similar to other Nic Cage performances. Par for the course, but backed up by a rather impressive cast of young men. You could easily empathize with the family, care about what happens, and ultimately cheer for the dog to survive it all.
