Review
Exhuma is a new Korean horror movie that explores the occult through shamanism. This is a very original and riveting movie, more so for the visuals and acting and not the fright factor. There is pleasing chill running through this film if you’re a fan of horror. It focuses on communicating and appeasing the restless dead and other powerful spirits. Most interestingly, you really get exposed to the rich Korean culture and rituals involved in the shamanistic practices.
The movie is a little long with a story that seems to wander at times, but it’s a rich cinematic feel to watching it. Very epic and dark. As stated previously, the horror lingers in the background. It’s not a film with in-your-face scares. Just a pleasing genre film for fans of the supernatural and occult practices.
