Hard to classify as horror, but definitely dark, Marrowbone feels almost gothic or Victorian, in a sense, like the scenes and characters are lost in time. There is a looming sense of darkness and dread, but feels more like a dark drama of sorts. I tagged this haunted house sub-genre of horror, as it’s set up that way, but in its entirety, it’s not technically in that sub-genre. The run-time on this is a little too long, in my opinion, some drag-time. But a decent watch if you’re in the mood for something different.
